Please see your bill or Consumers Energy website for contact information. Add this e-mail address to your address book so it is not marked as spam by any e-mail filtering software you may use. &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Consumers Energy&lt;/strong&gt; – Consumers Energy Company&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;ACH Recurring Payment&lt;/strong&gt; – A free electronic payment option through which payments are deducted automatically from a financial account on the date your bill is generated, the timing of the deduction is not based on the due date.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;eBill&lt;/strong&gt; – The electronic notification to an e-mail address designated by the customer that a bill has been generated by Consumers Energy’s C&amp;amp;I eBill service.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;C&amp;amp;I eBill Service&lt;/strong&gt; – The user name and password-protected area of the C&amp;amp;I eBill service, through which electronic bill payment and presentment are available.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;ACH One-Time Payment&lt;/strong&gt; – No charge electronic payment option through which bill payments are scheduled manually to be deducted from a customer’s financial account in the amount and one banking day after the selected date by the customer.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;User Name&lt;/strong&gt; – A unique login name chosen by the customer when enrolling in the C&amp;amp;I eBill service.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="#0.1_top"&gt;Back to top&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;Enrollment&lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;Enrollment in a payment option is completed through the C&amp;amp;I eBill service. By enrolling, you represent and warrant that you either: i) are using your actual identity and all information you provide to Consumers Energy is accurate and complete or ii) are authorized to access information related to the accounts attached to the User Name. In either case, you will notify us immediately and cease using the system if you are presented with account information you are not authorized to access. You also agree that the information you provide to Consumers Energy may be verified for accuracy, and that Consumers Energy has the right to obtain financial information regarding your account from your financial institution in order to resolve payment posting problems.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;Electronic Bill Presentment – Replacement of Paper Bill&lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;Once you have enrolled in the C&amp;amp;I eBill service, you no longer will receive a paper bill. When a new eBill is available, you will receive an e-mail notification stating your new bill is ready to be viewed. Consumers Energy will attempt to present your eBill notification promptly; however, it is your sole responsibility to provide a current e-mail address for bill notification purposes, and to log in to the C&amp;amp;I eBill service to access your bill if you do not receive the notification e-mail. You must contact Consumers Energy at the phone number on your bill or visit the website for contact information if you cannot access your bill online. It also is your sole responsibility to ensure timely payment of all Consumers Energy bills. Bill notices and other important notices about your account will be sent to you electronically from an unmonitored mailbox with the following address: &lt;a href="mailto:ebill@consumersenergy.com" target="_blank"&gt;ebill@consumersenergy.com&lt;/a&gt;. Contact Consumers Energy at the phone number on your bill or visit the website for additional information about your bills.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;Payment Options&lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Electronic Payment Options&lt;/strong&gt; – eBills may be paid through the C&amp;amp;I eBill service electronically in two different ways:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;ACH Recurring Payment&lt;/strong&gt; — You may set up automatic recurring payments to be withdrawn from your financial account. If you choose this electronic payment option, your payment will be processed on the date your bill is generated, the timing of the deduction is not based on the due date, and presented to your financial institution for funding that evening.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;With this payment option, payments made prior to the enrollment date that have not yet posted to your account(s) will not be reflected in your balance.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;ACH One-Time Payment&lt;/strong&gt; — If you choose to use the one-time payment option, you must log in to the C&amp;amp;I eBill service each month and designate the amount and date of withdrawal of your payment prior to your bill’s due date to ensure timely payment.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Note:&lt;/strong&gt; You may change your preferred method of payment at any time by visiting the C&amp;amp;I eBill service. It is your sole responsibility to ensure the timely payment of bills. For other payment options please visit the Consumers Energy website.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="#0.1_top"&gt;Back to top&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;Electronic Payment Authorization &lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;When you elect an electronic payment option, you authorize Consumers Energy to withdraw funds from your designated Payment Account for the amount you authorized. You also represent and warrant that you are legally authorized to make withdrawals from your designated Payment Account, and to permit others to make withdrawals from that account on your behalf.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;Cancelling Pending Electronic Payments&lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;Customers who use the one-time payment feature in the C&amp;amp;I eBill service may cancel scheduled payments up until the date and time listed on the Payments tab on the C&amp;amp;I eBill service.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Customers who have elected the ACH Recurring Payments option must de-enroll from this payment option in order to stop the automatic withdrawal of future payments.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Consumers Energy will not assist with stop payment requests. Please contact your financial institution directly to stop payment. Your financial institution may charge a fee for this service.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;If the electronic payment is canceled, we will continue to notify you electronically when future bills are ready to view.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;Failed Transactions&lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;Consumers Energy shall not be responsible for its failure to post electronic payments authorized by you under the following circumstances:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Your Payment Account does not contain sufficient funds to complete the transaction&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;You have not provided Consumers Energy with correct Payment Account information&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Circumstances beyond the control of Consumers Energy prevent the proper execution of the transaction. Such circumstances include, by way of example and not limited to flood, fire, interference from an outside force, or malfunction of a third party payment processing center.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;PROVIDED NONE OF THE ABOVE CIRCUMSTANCES EXIST, CONSUMERS ENERGY’S LIABILITY FOR AN IMPROPER WITHDRAWAL OF FUNDS SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT OF THE IMPROPER WITHDRAWAL.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="#0.1_top"&gt;Back to top&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;Fees and Charges &lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;Consumers Energy does not charge a fee for the C&amp;amp;I eBill service or for the electronic payment options discussed hereinabove. We reserve the right to impose fees and/or charges in the future. In that event, you will be notified in advance, but any use after notification will constitute your agreement to pay the fee. Any fees imposed by your financial institution are your sole responsibility. You also are responsible for any and all telephone access fees and for Internet service fees that may be assessed by your Internet service provider.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;Changes in Your Information &lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;It is your sole responsibility to ensure that the contact and account information in your C&amp;amp;I eBill service User Name, including but not limited to your name and e-mail address, remain current and accurate. You must sign in promptly to the C&amp;amp;I eBill service to update this information if it changes.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;De-enrollment &lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;You may de-enroll from your payment option at any time by visiting the C&amp;amp;I eBill service.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Recurring payments that were scheduled to be withdrawn from your Payment Account prior to de-enrollment still may be deducted.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;De-enrollment from your payment option does not remove your financial information. To remove your financial information, click on the Payments Setup tab then go to the appropriate section and delete.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;User Name and Password Security &lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;You are responsible for the security of your C&amp;amp;I eBill service User Name and password security. You should not give your User Name or password, or your Consumers Energy account number out to others. If you feel your online account information has been compromised, or that someone may attempt to transfer money from your Payment Account without your permission, you should notify Consumers Energy immediately.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;You are solely responsible for all payments and transactions authorized under your User Name and password. In addition to notifying Consumers Energy as aforesaid, you should contact your financial institution to report any unauthorized transactions.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;a href="#0.1_top"&gt;Back to top&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;Errors and Questions&lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;Contact Consumers Energy to report errors in your eBill or electronic payment transaction(s), or to ask questions about your online account.&lt;/p&gt; &lt;h2&gt;Disclaimer of Warranties&lt;/h2&gt; &lt;p&gt;YOU EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;YOUR USE OF CONSUMERS ENERGY’S C&amp;amp;I EBILL SERVICE AND ELECTRONIC PAYMENT OPTIONS (COLLECTIVELY, “THE SERVICE”) IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS-IS” AND “AS-AVAILABLE” BASIS.
